Anatolian
Turkish psych or ‘Anadolu Pop’ has been a big love affair for me since a DJ friend played some out one night, my jaw dropped my face melted and my feet kept moving. A clash of eastern traditions and western grooves, initially inspired by such surf bands as The Shadows and there progression into rock and rollers, many musicians manipulated the traditional instruments, which they where inherently trained in, to create a wondrous noise. I could go on….but here’s a mix I did that speaks better about the music than I ever could…unfortunately about 70 per cent of all vinyl was melted during the Persian Oil crisis, making it hard to find, rare and at times pricey…but a bit of patience and a bit of hunting can lead to some forgotten eastern treasures…these are mostly 45’s bar the 2nd Zafer Dilek track (LP) and the 2nd Selda track which can be found, with some more Anatolian treasures on the brilliant Finders Keepers Records label.

Voilà un petit track qui me convient parfaitement, un matin d'octobre pour lequel je ressors mon defelcoat. L'ambiance de "Carefree Highway" correspond bien avec cette période de l'année... "Colors Of The Sun" est un album tout frais de septembre sur LO recordings dans la ligné de Windsurf, Aéroplane blablabla... Sorcerer à la guitare. Pas mal, dommage que la pochette soit rouge et moche, c'est pour cela que j'ai mis une autre illustration tirée de sa page > Hatchback

Ask an italian friend (dj or promoter) who is the best underground disc jockey of the Bel Paese after the 90s. If this guy doesn’t answer “Obviously PeakNick” dump him.
Born and raised in the little village of Manerbio (where he still lives) PeakNick has started his career at the age of 14, becoming in few years the hidden treasure of clubs like the Link (Bologna) and the Plastic (Milan). And if you have ever been there, mind that he is the dj in the sailor uniform who invited A Touch Of Class, Mu, people from Clone, Suicide and In Flagranti to perform unforgottable live shows.
His anti-marketing theory, his anarchism together with the extreme research and technique have generated a real cult (and actually some envy), but it’s not easy to catch him, unless you hang out with Thomas Brinkmann or write books about the New Dada of Guglielmo Achille Cavellini.
All the other people need to book a flight to his Babel where Hammurabi plays his ‘multi-dj-set’ on the 3rd friday of the month in Milan.

I met Jeremy aka rarely Seen Above ground during his gig at Maximum Joy in Dublin 2 years ago.
He plays alone onstage with a DVD as backing band and he's amazing.
His new album is just out. He'll be at I'm a Cliché's next party @ La Flèche d'Or mid november

Je me lance dans cette feuille de chou "mi-figue mi-raisin" par le clip de "Chief Inspector" de Wally Badarou que je me suis chanté toute la journée, dans la voiture et en préparant ma soupe au poireau (avec un disque d'Ashra en fond pour oublier). Je profite de cette petite introduction pour annoncer que je parlerais souvent de manger car j'aime bien ça aussi. Hé oué!

I was born very young
Il y a à peine moins de 10 ans, résident sur Nova, Romain BNO jouait ce que beaucoup jouent aujourd'hui à grand renfort de morceaux dénichés sur les forums geeks du moment. Non pas que ce soit mieux parce que ç'a été fait avant bien d'autres, mais ces mixs ont un coté vraiment festifs et savants à la fois, deux choses qui ne font pas si souvent bon ménage.
Premier post parmi d'autres à suivre, celui-ci se nomme "70's & 80's Arpeggio Mix", et c'est précisément ce qu'on trouve à l'interieur.
Il fut diffusé en Mars 2000.
Pas mal.
